Selena told Francia the waitlist for a kidney transplant was extremely long and felt like she was running out of options. At that point, Francia didn't hesitate to get tested to see if she was a donor match.

Francia went through an expedited series of tests in order to prepare her for the procedure, including a blood and urine test, as well as a psychological and physical exam.

Once surgery day arrived, Selena thought of a fun way to ease their nerves.

Although Selena's health was the one deteriorating, thinking about the procedure made Francia fear for her own health.

But even though the initial surgery was a success, Selena had to go into emergency surgery shortly after, because her new kidney was turning around inside her body.

As for the recovery process, both ladies believe it was very humbling. They were on bed rest and only allowed to walk an hour a day.
